Dr Lillian Gien

I hope you don't need to go to Sunnybrook Hospital but if you do end up there see this doctor's rating and what some people say about her.

Dr Kupets

See what kind of doctors Sunnybrook has working for it.

I hope things have changed just in case I end up there.

Follow the link and see what people think of Dr. Kupets. I felt like my mom was just a number.

Tell me what you think.

Why don't doctors use chemo on themselves?

Use this link to see more on why doctors don't use chemo on themselves or their loved ones.

If a doctor won't use chemo then why should we?

My mom was not a thing; she was a person with feelings and dreams etc...

Being harrassed in the emergency room

In August of 2010 my mother was at Scarborough General Hospital with water in her lungs.

Some East Indian lady (We are East Indian) came to my mom and told her she shouldn't waste the hospital's time. She told my mom to go home.

How dare this off the boat piece of shit tell my mother such a thing. What was that lady doing in the emergency room? Maybe she was wasting the hospital's time.

I did speak to a hospital manager. I was told an investigation would be done. I never heard back from the manager.

I will have to find her name and call her to see what was found or not found.

Cancer did finally kill my mother but it had help

The cancer in my mother's body did kill her in the end but if my mom wasn't so weak in the end she might have survived the hospital visit to continue to do her chemo.

I've heard of people much older thant 72 that have cancer and live many more years.

Money does make a difference. If we could have paid to have her taken care of at home and kept her happy she might have survived.

You can always push doctors and nurses to do things but if they have other patients then they can only give you so much attentions.

We could have full time nurses stay with my mom to make sure everything that could have been done was done. If my mom was at home with us we could have been with her most of the time. The nurse would care for her when we couldn't pay attention.

She would have lived. I know it and I won't allow anyone to tell me different.

My mother died and I'm starting to deal with it

My mother died, passed away, or gave up her hospital bed on November 10, 2010 (Wednesday) at 8am.

She had uterine cancer that spread a bit to her liver. She had a spot on her liver and the doctor at Sunnybrook Hospital was controlling the cancer with hormone pills. The cancer was not growing for a long time and then suddenly --- yeah right --- the cancer was a big spot on the liver.

My mom was having trouble breathing after her second round of chemo. I told the doctor (a new doctor because the first doctor went on maternity leave) that my mom was having trouble breathing and hadn't slept in her bed for about 3 weeks. My mom slept in a chair next to her bed. I mentioned that I thought my mom had water in her lungs. The doctor said "Oh, that's just cancer. That's normal. Just tell your mother to rest." I had mentioned the problems breathing a few times and got the same answer.

The night before she was supposed to get her 3rd chemo my mom said she could only go to chemo if she went by ambulance. I called Sunnybrook for advice. The doctor told me to bring her in by ambulance in the morning because noone would do anything for her until then. When the morning came we called for an ambulance and explained the situation. (She did not sleep at all and waited until the ambulance came.)

The EMS and fire dept came at about 9am and got my mother into the ambulance. The ambulance wasn't moving for some time and made us nervous. After some time on of the EMS guys approached me. He said my mom's heart rate was so low that they would prefer to take my mom to Scarborough General Hospital. He explained she might not make the trip to Sunnybrook. My mother was stabilized and taken to Scarborough General Hospital.

(I will continue soon. Sorry I don't have the strength to do this right now. Thanks for understanding.)
